(I had this problem a couple years ago and eventually it seemed to resolve itself - but not this time.) So I have the work-around I just described, but it's very very clumsy. (Then I CAN change the file name if I do it from the File Manager. HOWEVER: In my case, its "memory" seems to be faulty! If I move (by dragging) or rename a fie while looking at the Desktop, most of the icons shift position! I can restore them from DOK, but my new preferences seem to be can find the icon I just moved/renamed and make ANOTHER small change to its name, and THEN restore.
